One of the items that made this year’s bucket list (and last year’s, too, but I failed it. This year I’m back with more determination) is to take at least one picture every single day. I’m going to choose one of the photos each day and post it to the blog so whoever wants to follow the adventure can visualize it.

I never take as many pictures as I should at parties, events, etc. so this should force me to be a little more accountable.

With love,

Day 1: Monday, May 13, 2013

Day 1

Arrived at Vista Way at 8:30 pm on Monday, where Meagan and I found out we’d be living together at Patterson Court. Spent the night moving in, unpacking, getting comfortable.

Day 2: Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Day 2

Adventure in Downtown Disney with Ben, Meagan and Shelley for delicious dinner at Earl of Sandwich (my favourite place in the world to eat). Shopping and dining and laughs.

Day 3: Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Day 3

Three days in, Meagan and I finally went to Walmart for groceries. Bought more than we could possibly carry–thank goodness Shelley came to the rescue and met us at the bus stop to help us carry everything in. Notice the four cartons of lemonade–my favourite way to celebrate summertime.

Day 4: Thursday, May 16, 2013Day 4

Traditions time! Classic Disney training where I got my schedule, my ID and my nametag. Note, I chose to rep for Kemptville this time instead of Ottawa, I never can decide what my real hometown is.

Day 5: Friday, May 17, 2013Day 5

Got my costume following DAKlimation! (Disney’s Animal Kingdom training). Notice the detail–I’m honestly covered in bugs, which is hilarious because I have a severe bug phobia. I forgot to include the optional fanny pack (bum bag), but you get the idea.

Day 6: Saturday, May 18, 2013Day 6

Does carrying the lunch bag from my old park to work make me a traitor?

Day 7: Sunday, May 19, 2013Day 7

Pardon the graininess of the photo, I took this late at night after a shift. This is my beautiful costume. It’s actually really comfortable and breathes pretty well.

Day 8: Monday, May 20, 2013 Day 8  After a day of thunderstorms at Animal Kingdom, we saw a glorious double rainbow all the way across the sky.

Day 9: Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Day 9 Ghirardelli chocolates are my weakness. This is 80 pieces of amazing, individually wrapped, deliciousness. The dark chocolate with sea salt caramel is unbelievable.

Day 10: Wednesday, May 22, 2013

DSCF1814Late night swimming in the Patterson pool is always a good choice.

Day 11: Thursday, May 23, 2013

DSCF1819Fantastic day at Typhoon Lagoon with Shelley. Showed up for opening and we were able to do just about everything in the first hour, then spent the remainder of the day in the wave pool, the lazy river and swimming with sharks. Best water park ever.

Day 12: Friday, May 24, 2013

DSCF1820I finally have a phone! Walmart was sold out for so long (new arrivals every Monday made it practically impossible to get a phone). Feels so good to be able to stay connected with friends in Orlando (and Canada!)

Day 13: Saturday, May 25, 2013

DSCF1821The view out my window on the balcony. Since I was a kid, palm trees have always completely symbolized vacation (as I’m sure they do for many of my northern friends). When making the 24-hour road trip from Canada to Orlando with my family, staring out the window to see palm trees was my favourite thing, so being able to wake up to this sight every day for three months is wonderful.

Day 14: Sunday, May 26, 2013

DSCF1828My transportation schedule. Transtar buses to work are the bane of my existence. God bless all of my friends who have cars and occasionally share that luxury with me—they make being here bearable.

Day 15: Monday, May 27, 2013

DSCF1829Gotta love ending a long day at work (ie. Memorial Day weekend madness) with a Wendy’s date with the best.

Day 16: Tuesday, May 28, 2013

DSCF1834Swimming before work with Benjamin is a good way to start the day. If I were in Canada, pools wouldn’t even be open yet.

Day 17: Wednesday, May 29, 2013

DSCF1836Hurricane season is now upon us in Orlando. Thankfully, the rain never lasts very long, but you can count on rain just about every day.

Day 18: Thursday, May 30, 2013

DSCF1839I now have the appropriate lunch bag for my new work location! May seem silly, but I am very excited to have this.

Day 19: Friday, May 31, 2013

DSCF1844Absolutely wonderful day with Benjamin at Hollywood Studios. Despite living in the same city this summer, we work very opposite schedules and can go days without seeing each other. Having awesome nights like this one makes up for it. Fantastic dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre (GO! It’s so fun! Get the deep-fried pickles.) and ended the night with Fantasmic and a completely packed bus ride home.

Day 20: Saturday, June 1, 2013

DSCF1867Meagan and I met Goofy! We had a very rushed trip to Animal Kingdom, hopped in line to meet the best Goofy ever, then managed to squeeze in a ride on Dinosaur and a safari.

Day 21: Sunday, June 2, 2013

DSCF1869  Every night I write down at least one awesome thing that happened that day. Maybe something I did, someone I met, or something someone said, but I have to put in at least one every day. Most days I can come up with several great things that happened, but a couple of tough days forced me to submit just one. I keep it on my nightstand to remind me that this summer has already been so good to me and that the good times outweigh the difficult ones. At the end of my program, I’m going to read all of them as a way to wrap up my program and remember all the great times and great people.

Day 22: Monday, June 3, 2013

DSCF1871Borrowed A Bug’s Life from the Vista Way learning centre. I haven’t watched this movie in years, so now seemed like the perfect time.

Day 23: Tuesday, June 4, 2013

DSCF1875Ben’s birthday is the 5th of June, but since we’ll both be working, Meagan and I threw a mini-party to celebrate the night before. I worked until 9:30 pm, so hurried home to do this rushed streamer and balloons job—thankfully, Meagan was there to help.

Day 24: Wednesday, June 5, 2013

DSCF1894Woke up early to go to Animal Kingdom with Meagan for some fun before I went to work. We saw Festival of the Lion King (Meagan’s obsession), did Expedition Everest and a safari then grabbed a delicious lunch at Restaurantosaurous. But the highlight for me was Flights of Wonder, which is my favourite show in all of Walt Disney World. So much fun.

Day 25: Thursday, June 6, 2013DSCF1907

I spend a significant amount of my spare time (when I have it!) watching The Office on Netflix. It’s my little brother’s obsession, and he’s got me hooked. It’s the best way to unwind before or after a busy day at work.

Day 26: Friday, June 7, 2013

DSCF1919Met Ben after his shift to celebrate his birthday at the Magic Kingdom. Since he worked a very long shift on his actual birthday, I got him a birthday button and we took today to celebrate. Wonderful night.

Day 27: Saturday, June 8, 2013

DSCF1928It was one of the last possible days to visit a water park as cast members, so Ben and I took the chance to go to Typhoon Lagoon. We were able to enjoy the calm before the storm and have a great morning at the park.

Day 28: Sunday, June 9, 2013

DSCF1929Laundry day! I always put it off as long as possible, so I bring lots of clothes wherever I go. Took the chance to clean all my clothes before work (and the Patterson laundry rooms are actually really nice and reasonably priced).
